Mitsubishi Motors Sees Big Sales Surge in July
After the global financial recession in 2008, many automotive analysts thought Mitsubishi Motors would go the way of Pontiac and other brands. However, 10 years later, and the brand is getting stronger month after month. In fact, July sales saw a boost of 24 percent, when compared to July 2017.
The biggest sales leader for the month was the Outlander Sport, which saw total sales of 3,440 units. This was an 18.2 percent increase over last year. Right behind the Outlander Sport was the larger Outlander. It had sales of 3,008 units for a jump of 18.9 percent. This was the Outlander’s best July sales since its introduction in 2002.
Total year-to-date sales came in at 77,277 units — a 23.4 percent increase over the same time period last year. For July alone, vehicle sales totaled 9,950. This was a 24 percent sales surge over July 2017. As you can see from these figures, Mitsubishi is here to stay.
Mitsubishi is also dedicated to producing new, innovative models like the stunning Eclipse Cross and fuel-efficient Outlander PHEV, which delivers an estimated 22 miles of electric driving range. Both of these models continue to impress buyers, month after month. In July, the automaker sold 775 Eclipse Cross models and 350 Outlander PHEVs.
